First post

Hello all,
Since this is my first post I guess I should explain what this is about. In the world of pointing dogs and their training there are many different methods. This blog is an attempt to chronicle my experiences in this environment and the pitfalls and successes it can have.

Currently I am utilizing a method from The American Hunting Dog Club and while I have been happy with this method I feel it lacking in certain areas. As such I a going to be taking a seminar from a trainer who utilizes another method which is much different then the one I am currently using.

This trainer uses what has been commonly referred to as the "West/Gibbons" method. While there are allot of trainer using this method none seem to be located in the north east - hence the seminar. It is a method that make allot of sense to me empirically however I am having trouble with certain points. I am hoping the seminar will help to make those issues disappear....time will tell. For further reading on the West/Gibbons method and it's derivatives you can check out Dave Walker's book.
